MU Health Care opened a new ambulance base in Columbia this week, bringing emergency medical services closer to a high-volume call area and helping support faster response times for patients and families in the surrounding community.

The ambulance operates from a base located at 101 S Fairview Rd from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with plans to expand service in the future.

“This new ambulance base is an investment in the health and safety of our community,” said Josh Creamer, senior director of emergency services at MU Health Care. “By positioning our teams closer to where they’re needed, we can respond more quickly when every minute matters. It’s another way we’re delivering on our commitment to save and improve lives for the people we serve.”

The new ambulance based at Fairview supplements existing Columbia bases located at Keene Street, Business Loop 70 West, University Hospital and 1000 W. Nifong Blvd. MU Health Care also has an ambulance base in Ashland.
