University of Missouri Health Care is expanding its services and will now offer occupational medicine at clinics in both Columbia and Mexico, Missouri. The occupational medicine practice of Eddie Runde, MD, is now officially part of MU Health Care. 

Occupational medicine is a specialty of preventative care focused on helping employers keep employees safe and healthy at work.

“The wealth of occupational medicine experience and expertise Dr. Runde provides will help create new opportunities to collaborate with employers in mid-Missouri to improve and promote high-quality care for their employees,” said Jonathan Curtright, MU Health Care’s chief executive officer.

MU Health Care’s Occupational Medicine Clinics in Columbia and Mexico will provide a wide range of services to help employers evaluate the work readiness of their employees and ensure continued health and recovery from work-related injuries.

“I am very excited to join MU Health Care and expand its spectrum of services,” Runde said. “At the same time, I also look forward to connecting my patients to the many MU Health Care specialists dedicated to saving and improving lives.”

Runde is a graduate of the MU School of Medicine and has trained in occupational medicine at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute and the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

The MU Health Care Occupational Medicine Clinic in Columbia is located at 303 North Keene Street and the Mexico location is at 809 Medical Park Drive. Both clinics will be fully operational Monday, Aug. 9.
