Garage to close while crews add automated parking guidance, digital signage and other structural upgrades
On Monday, June 26, the Patient and Visitor Garage attached to MU Health Care’s University Hospital will begin undergoing improvements requiring its closure for approximately one month.
Upgrades include a new automated parking guidance system with digital signage displaying the number of spaces available on each level and an additional entrance on the northeast side of the structure for the new Children’s Hospital, which is slated to open in June 2024. Construction crews will also perform maintenance and concrete beam repairs throughout the structure.
While the garage is unavailable, patients and visitors are advised to park in the west side of Parking Structure 7, located just south of the hospital between Hospital Drive and Virginia Avenue. MU Health Care courtesy shuttles running 24 hours a day, seven days a week will pick up patients and visitors from their cars and transport them to the main entrance of University Hospital, University Physicians Medical Building and Missouri Orthopaedic Institute.
MU Health Care is committed to providing free and convenient parking options for patients and visitors. The addition of automated digital signage with the number of spaces available on each level in both the Patient and Visitors Garage and in Parking Structure 7 will make parking on MU Health Care’s clinical campus more convenient than ever before.
MU Health Care recommends that patients and visitors follow directional signage and allow additional travel time when arriving for appointments. More information about road closures and parking changes related to construction on MU Health Care’s clinical campus is available on our Parking Information page.
