4,000 Moderna first dose vaccinations were initially scheduled to take place last week

MU Health Care has rescheduled COVID-19 vaccinations that were postponed last week because of weather-related shipping delays.

A delivery of 4,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine arrived today, one week later than anticipated due to winter storms that affected much of the country. The new vaccination dates will be Thursday, Feb 25 and Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Faurot Field vaccination site.

“Those who had appointments postponed last week are being contacted with new appointment information for this Thursday or Saturday” said Brad Myers, MU Health Care Director of Pharmacy and Laboratory Services. “If you had an appointment scheduled for Feb. 19 or 21, please check your email for an update or call our COVID-19 vaccine call center hotline at 573-771-CARE (2273).”

MU Health Care has partnered with Boone Health and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services on an online survey at muhealth.org/form/covid-vaccine-survey where people can sign up to be notified when COVID-19 vaccine will be available to them. It’s available for patients and non-patients. People only need to fill out the form once to be notified of appointment availability. Those who have questions or need help filling out the form can call our COVID-19 vaccine call center at 573-771-CARE (2273). The call center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

MU Health Care’s vaccination site at the Walsworth Family Columns Club at MU's football stadium offers the vaccine by appointment only and is designed to allow appropriate spacing, efficient patient flow and minimal wait times. Learn more at: muhealth.org/our-stories/how-do-i-get-covid-19-vaccine.
