MU Health Care is closing its drive-thru testing site near the Mizzou softball stadium and will conduct all drive-thru testing for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at the Mizzou North location at 115 Business Loop 70 West in Columbia beginning Monday, Aug. 3.

The original drive-thru testing site, which includes a trailer and temporary structures, opened March 18 in the Mizzou softball stadium parking lot. The second testing site at Mizzou North opened July 13 in an effort to decrease wait times during a spike in demand for testing. Since opening the second site, testing volume for the two locations has leveled off, allowing the on-campus location to close.

The Mizzou North site will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Those who test positive for COVID-19 will receive a phone call, usually within 24-48 hours. Negative test results will be available through the HealthConnect portal within 72 hours.

Patients experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms, those who’ve had direct exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19, traveled to a high-risk area, or patients with certain risk factors should seek a doctor’s order before getting a test at the Mizzou North drive-thru testing site. Patients who are asymptomatic and require testing prior to scheduled medical procedures will have the option to be tested within an MU Health Care lab instead of the drive-thru.

Patients suffering severe symptoms or breathing problems should proceed directly to the emergency department or call 911.
