Family medicine doctors Mona L. Brownfield, MD, Robert H. Koch, MD, and family nurse practitioner Lori Weekley, joined the MU Health Care family in mid-February following the closure of Pinnacle Health System. The providers are now seeing patients again at MU Health Care’s Family Medicine Clinic in Fayette. This is an interim solution until a clinic location in Boonville is prepared.

“We are so excited to be available to serve our community and patients again,” Brownfield said. “We have missed them greatly. We feel that joining the MU Health Care team is going to be tremendous for our Boonville community.”

The clinic is located at 308 S. Church Street in Fayette, and patients can schedule appointments with Brownfield, Koch and Weekley by calling 660-882-3585. The clinic is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is accepting in-person and virtual care appointments.

“With the closure of the Pinnacle Regional Hospital, MU Health Care did not hesitate to ask how we might help to serve the health care needs of the Boonville community,” said Michael LeFevre, MD, chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the MU School of Medicine and a physician at MU Health Care. “We welcome these providers into the Department of Family Medicine and are excited to have them as a part of our team. This is not the time to put off health care needs, and across all of our clinics, we are actively using video visits whenever possible to assure the health and safety of our patients and our practices.”

These hires are part of a larger collaboration between MU Health Care and community leaders in Boonville and Cooper County to develop short- and long-term solutions to meet the local health care needs of Cooper County residents.
