EDITOR’S NOTE: To prevent the public from thinking this is an actual emergency, any help you can provide to publicize this event in advance will assist the community and would be greatly appreciated.

WHAT: University of Missouri Health Care will conduct a large-scale emergency management exercise at Women’s and Children’s Hospital with simulated patients and a hospital evacuation. The exercise will test the emergency response plans for both MU Health Care and the state of Missouri to ensure high quality care when disaster strikes.

Most hospital departments will be involved in the exercise, and Boy Scout volunteers will participate as live patients. This event has been scheduled in coordination with the Missouri Hospital Association and St. Louis Children’s Hospital for several weeks and is not in response to the recent tornadic activity.

WHO: MU Health Care clinical and administrative staff

WHEN: 8 a.m. until noon Friday, May 31, 2019

WHERE: Women’s and Children’s Hospital, 404 N Keene St., Columbia, Missouri
