MU Health Care Family Medicine Clinic in Mexico opened last month

MU Health Care will open its urgent care clinic in Mexico, Mo., on Tuesday, Aug. 16. The location will be housed inside the South Clark Medical Building in Mexico at 3626 S Clark St.

The new Mizzou Urgent Care in Mexico will provide a convenient and cost-effective option for adults and children needing urgent, but not life-threatening medical care. It will feature MU Health Care emergency medicine providers offering care seven days a week.

“This is a full-service urgent care that will provide a much higher level of care than the walk-in clinic previously operating at that location,” said Matthew Robinson, MD, MU Health Care’s Emergency Medicine chair. “Because we are an academic health system, our doctors and clinicians are on the leading edge of health care. In addition, our team will eventually include Mexico providers Simon McKeown, MD, and physician assistant Tyler Sanders.”

Mizzou Urgent Care in Mexico will offer care to all ages for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions, and can provide X-rays, lab services, breathing treatments, IV hydration and medications, and services for asthma and respiratory infections.

“Our goal is to offer patients the highest-quality health care with the greatest convenience, while also being able to connect patients with more than 600 MU Health Care doctors in more than 80 specialties working together to ensure patients get the best care possible,” Robinson said.

Mizzou Urgent Care in Mexico will share the South Clark Medical Building with MU Health Care’s Family Medicine Clinic in Mexico featuring community providers Diane Jacobi, MD, and nurse practitioner Regina Hill. Jacobi and Hill started seeing patients in Mexico on July 18. Patients wishing to schedule an appointment with Jacobi or Hill should call (573) 581-1445.

Mizzou Urgent Care will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. seven days a week to serve patients on a walk-in basis.
