MU Health Care invites families to attend Safe Kids Day on Saturday, May 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clary-Shy Park, 1701 W Ash St.

The event will feature a bike helmet giveaway, interactive safety stations and a teddy bear clinic where kids can bring their stuffed animals with injuries to get fixed up. MU Health Care will also be giving away the duck stuffie from the Children’s Hospital collection.

“This is a fun event designed to address a very serious topic,” said Jenny Brooks, Safe Kids injury prevention and safety outreach coordinator at MU Health Care. “Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 14 nationwide. Our goal is to encourage healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
