Patients with mild symptoms, need for travel test may use labs instead of Mizzou Urgent Care
MU Health Care is experiencing an increase in patients seeking COVID-19 testing as the virus experiences a resurgence across the state. In an effort to make testing more convenient and to provide the appropriate level of care for community members, MU Health Care will begin offering walk-in COVID-19 tests Monday, July 19, at designated lab locations. These lab testing options are for those who need travel testing or for individuals who have mild symptoms or a known COVID-19 exposure and want to be tested.
The walk-in tests for mild and asymptomatic patients will be available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the labs at the South Providence Medical Building and the Battle Avenue Medical Building. The Battle lab is closed 12-1 p.m. daily.
Important:
- Face coverings are required, and patients are encouraged to bring their own from home.
- No visitors are allowed - only the person seeking testing should enter.
Those with COVID-19 symptoms who want to be seen by a medical professional have several options to obtain a test, including:
- Contact your primary care provider’s office
- Sign up for a virtual visit
- Visit a Mizzou Quick Care
- Visit Mizzou Urgent Care
Those suffering severe symptoms or breathing problems should go to the emergency department or call 911.
People with questions about how to access COVID-19 testing may contact our call center at 573-884-0948.
