MU Health Care has reopened one of its three Mizzou Quick Care locations in Columbia. The location had been closed since March, when the health system closed the care locations to allocate resources elsewhere during the health system’s immediate novel coronavirus (COVID-19) response.

The Mizzou Quick Care location at the Hy-Vee on West Broadway is now offering in-person and online visits; however, the clinic lobby remains closed, and walk-in visits are not permitted.

Patients who need care for minor health issues can easily reserve a spot online from the comfort of their home or office. Some conditions are only being treated with virtual visits, while others can be treated in either setting or only in the clinic. See the Quick Care website for a full list of conditions treated in person and virtually.

The other two Mizzou Quick Care clinics inside Hy-Vee locations on Conley Road and Nifong Boulevard remain closed but could open within the next few months.

Patients experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms, those who’ve had direct exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19, traveled to a high risk area, or patients with certain risk factors can sign up for a Mizzou Quick Care virtual visit to be screened to receive a clinician’s order before getting a test at the drive-thru testing site, which is located behind the Mizzou softball field next to the Hearnes Center. Again, Mizzou Quick Care does not accept walk-in visits and COVID-19 assessments will be conducted virtually.

Patients suffering severe symptoms or breathing problems should call ahead to the emergency department before arriving to ensure health care staff can prepare for the individual’s arrival.
