Masks will continue to be required in all facilities

MU Health Care is further relaxing restrictions on visitors for some of its care environments, but masks will continue to be required inside all buildings.

Effective Monday, May 10, adult inpatients at University Hospital, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and Women’s and Children’s Hospital will be allowed two designated visitors. Visiting hours will expand by four hours each day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Missouri Psychiatric Center patients will also be allowed two visitors, but visiting hours will remain 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Emergency Department patients, those undergoing same-day surgery and testing, and those attending clinic visits will continue to be limited to a single visitor. No visitors will be permitted for patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

All visitors must be at least 16 years old.  Zoom and FaceTime will continue to provide patient access to family and friends who cannot be present.

“We’re very pleased that we can further loosen our pandemic precautions while continuing to ensure the safety of our patients, guests and staff,” said Kevin R. Gwin, MU Health Care chief patient experience officer.  “We will continue to monitor infection rates and other key metrics for the region and will adjust our policies based on that data.”
