Children’s Miracle Network, the Missouri Credit Union and Zimmer Communications are teaming up this week for MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital during the 20th annual Miracles for Kids Radiothon.

Local Zimmer Communications radio stations 99.3 FM Clear 99, 106.9 FM Y107, 93.9 FM The Eagle, 94.3 FM KAT Country, and 104.6 News Radio 950 KWOS are broadcasting live on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb 20 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. from the Zimmer Communications studios, while Miracle Families from Children’s Hospital participate in the event sharing their inspiring stories of health and healing. In the last 20 years of partnership with Zimmer Communications, this event has raised over $4 million dollars. All proceeds raised will stay in central Missouri to help pediatric and adolescent patients at Children’s Hospital.  

Children’s Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children’s health issues. Created by the Osmond Foundation in 1983, Children’s Miracle Network includes 170 hospitals nationwide, with five in Missouri.

Over the past 40 years, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $20 million for MU Health Care, with all the proceeds staying in central Missouri to help pediatric and adolescent patients at Children’s Hospital.  

MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital is central Missouri’s Children’s Miracle Network hospital. It is the largest and most comprehensive pediatric health care center in mid-Missouri. It is the only facility in the area offering comprehensive, specialized children’s services such as neonatal transport, child life and music therapy, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a pediatric hematology and oncology outpatient unit.  

The new Children’s Hospital on the main MU Health Care campus is designed with healing and comfort in mind. The facility features a dedicated kid-friendly entrance, a warm, nature-inspired interior to put children at ease, interactive clinic areas with toys and furniture that are inclusive for those with special needs and special outdoor areas and gardens for kids to play and relax.
