MU Health Care is opening a new, larger COVID-19 test collection site as the demand for testing continues to increase in the region.

The new MU Health Care COVID-19 collection site, located at 404 N. Keene St. inside the east entrance of Women’s Hospital, will open Tuesday, Jan. 18. The location will replace the site at 2003 W. Broadway, Suite 100, in Columbia and will be available for those with known exposure or mild symptoms, or those who just need a travel test.

The Keene Street site will offer expanded hours for walk-in test collection: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on weekends. The new location will also feature more space and a larger indoor waiting area for overflow.

No appointment is required, but patients must wear a mask and bring proof of insurance (if insured). There is no cost to the patient. Results will be delivered within 48 hours of testing, and will be available in HEALTHConnect, MU Health Care’s patient portal.

Those with COVID-19 symptoms who need to be seen by a medical professional have several alternatives to obtain a test. Costs vary depending on testing location. Options include:

Those suffering severe symptoms or breathing problems should go to the emergency department or call 911.
