Three orthopaedic surgeons at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute at the University of Missouri Health Care have earned prestigious fellowships in their respective specialties.

Seth L. Sherman, MD

Seth L. Sherman, MD, a sports medicine orthopaedic surgeon at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, is one of three U.S. physicians selected for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) traveling fellowship. He will spend three weeks in five different countries in South America. Sherman will visit with international surgeons and researchers, and give presentations at international sports medicine conferences.

Daniel Hoernschemeyer, MD, a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, is one of three U.S. physicians chosen to travel with the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) international fellowship. Hoernschemeyer will spend two weeks traveling to multiple pediatric hospitals through South America in the cities of Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and San Paulo, Brazil. He will conclude the trip with a presentation at the annual conference of POSNA and its South American partner organization.

Christina Goldstein, MD, an orthopaedic spine surgeon at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, is one of four U.S. physicians chosen to participate in the North American Traveling Fellowship (NAFT) tour hosted by the American Orthopaedic Association. Goldstein will visit 10 academic medical centers through the western U.S. during the tour, presenting her research at each site. Considered a flagship tour, the NAFT promotes clinical and scientific exchange of ideas to address challenges facing orthopaedics today.
