Story Summary
After Missouri’s 52-10 win over Louisiana, wide receiver Logan Muckey had a moment bigger than football. A father waved him over, proudly showing his young son in a No. 82 jersey—Muckey’s number. The boy, a cancer survivor, told Logan he wore it because he’d been inspired by his story.
Just six months earlier, Logan didn’t know he had thyroid cancer. Until then, his biggest accomplishment had been making it to college football.
The diagnosis showed him a different kind of strength. Family, teammates, coaches, and medical staff rallied around him every step of the way.
“I never felt alone through a single second of this,” Logan said. “It felt like I was being lifted up and carried through the whole situation.”
