Aerodigestive Clinic: Our providers see children who have airway abnormalities, digestive issues and pulmonary conditions that affect their eating, speaking, breathing or sleeping. Through the Aerodigestive Clinic, you can see multiple providers on one visit. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric pulmonologist, pediatric otolaryngologist, pediatric gastroenterologist, pediatric general surgeon, speech language pathologist, registered dietitian and developmental pediatricians.

Cerebral Palsy Clinic: Our providers treat all types of cerebral palsy and discuss which procedures and/or treatments are best for your child. We will discuss recommendations to other health care professionals for any treatment, therapy or useful equipment for your child. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric physiatrist, pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, developmental pediatrician, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, registered dietitian, orthodontist and equipment vendor.

Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic: Craniofacial dysostosis syndromes are a group of similar, inherited, congenital anomalies that affect the skull, face and sometimes the limbs. We offer our patients a comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation, including the only STARscanner™ cranial laser scanner in Missouri. If your child needs treatment, we offer the entire spectrum of craniofacial surgical and non-surgical treatment options. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric plastic surgeon, pediatric neurosurgeon, pediatric geneticist, developmental pediatrician, pediatric neuropsychologist, speech language pathologist and orthodontist.

Feeding and Swallowing Clinic: Providers work with your child on their swallowing difficulties, oral sensitivity, self-feeding skills, age-appropriate nutritional needs and oral-motor strength and control (chewing, tongue movement, bottle-feeding skills). Our staff can work with your child to create a therapy plan if he or she only eats certain textures, has trouble chewing, takes a long time to eat, has difficulty gaining weight or chokes and/or coughs when drinking. The clinic is staffed by a speech language pathologist, occupational therapist and registered dietitian.

Gait Analysis: This service uses advanced technology and provides insight into how the muscles, joints and bones work together to produce movement. A gait analysis appointment is approximately three hours long, and your child will be accompanied by a physical therapist and members of an engineering team. Sensors are placed on the skin over specific muscles to collect information about how your child moves. After reviewing the information the multidisciplinary team may make recommendations for surgery, medications, Botox injections, physical therapy, bracing, assistive devices and the use of other equipment. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, pediatric physiatrist, physical therapist and engineer.

Infant Toddler Development Clinic: In this clinic, developmental, behavioral and growth assessments are completed. Children who were in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or are otherwise at risk for developmental delays are seen in this clinic. Recommendations are made for care coordination, as well as any outside services that may help your child. The clinic is staffed by a developmental pediatrician, advanced practice nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist and registered dietitian.

Muscular Dystrophy Clinic: The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has partnered with MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital to care for children with neuromuscular disorders. We may make recommendations for home exercise programs, modifications to daily activities or supplements to current therapies. We also participate in the assessment of need for splints, bracing and assistive devices, including wheelchairs and walkers. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric neurologist, pediatric physiatrist, developmental pediatrician and physical therapist.

Seating Clinic: Our providers will assess your child’s need for adaptive equipment and work with you to decide which equipment would help. We also can adjust your child’s current equipment. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric physiatrist, physical therapist and equipment vendor.

Special Needs Clinic: Our providers assess communication, gross and fine motor skills, adaptive behavior, cognition and/or social-emotional skills. We recommend treatments, including appropriate therapies, medication management, counseling and resource referrals. Spina Bifida/Spinal Defects Clinic: We see a wide range of children with spinal defects diagnoses such as spina bifida, spinal cord trauma and tethered spinal cord. Our providers will make recommendations to improve daily living and function, including equipment, bracing, splinting, home exercise programs and home modifications. The clinic is staffed by a developmental pediatrician, pediatric physiatrist, pediatric neurosurgeon, pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, pediatric urologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist and orthodontist.

Tigers on Track Clinic: Tigers on Track is a multidisciplinary clinic designed to help your child and family develop lifelong healthy habits. The focus is the prevention of childhood obesity by increasing awareness about healthy eating and physical activity while improving self-esteem. Each child is provided a comprehensive assessment and an individualized home plan. If follow-up appointments are scheduled in this clinic, our physical therapists will track your child’s progress and make modifications to their home programs. The clinic is staffed by a pediatric endocrinologist, pediatric clinical nurse specialist, physical therapist, registered dietician and social worker.
