Birthing and Breastfeeding Classes

Our women's health team offers childbirth and breastfeeding classes to help families and those expecting new additions.

Please see the list below for our current class offerings. Some classes are conducted via Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed one day prior to each class.

Beginning Childbirth

Beginning Childbirth class helps prepare you and your support team for childbirth. The classes discuss topics such as labor progress, relaxation and comfort techniques, medical interventions, C-section and vaginal birth, postpartum care and baby care. Plan to begin the class about three months before your baby is due. The class is a four-week program that meets once a week and is offered at no cost.

Beginning Breastfeeding

Beginning Breastfeeding class focuses on how to set up your breastfeeding experience for success, maintain your milk supply, and continue breastfeeding even if you are returning to work or school. Classes are at no cost.

Birth in Motion

Birth in Motion is a labor and childbirth class through the eyes of a pelvic health physical therapist. Topics covered include basic health considerations of the pregnant and postpartum body, labor prep mobility program, movement options during labor and childbirth with and without an epidural, partner support through labor, how to push effectively and options for different pushing positions, advocating for a positive birth experience, and postpartum recovery considerations. This class can benefit a first time or fifth time mom and their support person. The best time to sign up is in your 2nd trimester. Birth in Motion has a mix of presentation and lab time to practice different movements.

Care of the Newborn

The joy of parenthood. Topics include, but are not limited to: safety, feeding and basics of newborn care. Classes are at no cost.

Low Intervention Birth Class

The Low Intervention Birth class will cover: Education regarding labor, positioning, partner support, birth plans, hypnobirthing, low intervention birth suite tour/ how to make any room your low intervention birth space. Classes are at no cost.
