Telehealth visits are available for your scheduled appointments with primary care doctors and specialists. All you need is a computer, tablet or smartphone that has a camera.
If you don't have a doctor, find one who is right for you.
Telehealth vs on-demand care
Telehealth is for scheduled appointments, while on-demand care is for times when you need care quickly and can't wait for an appointment. For on-demand care, try a video visit.
When you call to set up an appointment, our staff will determine if you are a candidate for a telehealth visit. If so, you will receive a message through MU Health Care’s HealthConnect portal or email. It will let you know the date and time of your appointment, and it will include the link you need to connect with your doctor. Please join the visit 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
Telehealth visits are conducted through an application called Zoom. MU Health Care subscribes to the secure, HIPAA-compliant version of the application, so your personal health information will remain private. If you haven’t used Zoom before, please review these instructions (English, Spanish, Arabic) or watch the video below to learn how.
If you are having any issues getting connected at the time of your appointment, someone in your doctor’s office will call and help troubleshoot the problem.
When your visit begins, a nurse or resident doctor will greet you and gather information, just like a clinic visit. Then your doctor will take over and complete the process. The cost to you is the same as a clinic visit.
