Our Approach to Arrhythmia Care
At MU Health Care, we treat all types of arrhythmias — from common rhythm conditions like atrial fibrillation (AFib) to rare inherited disorders.
We coordinate care across specialties, connecting with heart failure experts, cardiothoracic surgeons and high-risk obstetrics teams when additional expertise is needed.
Whether you come to us for routine management or urgent care, our team is ready to guide you every step of the way.
How We Diagnose Arrhythmias
We use advanced testing to understand what’s causing your symptoms and identify the most effective treatment plan.
We may recommend several diagnostic tools, including:
- Ambulatory and event monitors to track heart rhythm over time
- Cardiac CT and MRI to assess structure and scarring
- Cardiac stress tests if symptoms occur only with activity
- Echocardiogram (echo) and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) to check rhythm and function
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies to pinpoint the mechanism and location of abnormal electrical signals
- Genetic testing and screening when inherited rhythm disorders are suspected
