With two urgent care facilities and mid-Missouri’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, MU Health Care’s emergency services are there when life is on the line.

University of Missouri Health Care provides expert care in emergency medicine, trauma and acute care surgery, and critical care. At University Hospital’s Level I trauma center, the Frank L. Mitchell Jr., MD, Trauma Center, our health care professionals care for the most acutely ill and injured patients.

Our emergency rooms at University Hospital and Women’s and Children’s Hospital are often the first point of care for severely ill or injured patients. Staff members in University of Missouri Health Care’s emergency rooms and trauma center treat more than 50,000 patients each year.
