At Children's Hospital, we love helping childhood cancer patients grow into survivors.
Bindu Sathi, MD, is one of our providers who is focused on helping families win their battles.
"When you talk about leukemia, lymphoma, or brain tumors, there’s a fear in the mind," she said. "So the first thing I try to do is really reassure them."
Children's Hospital is a proud member of the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research. Children’s Oncology Group research has turned children’s cancer from a virtually incurable disease 50 years ago to one with a combined 5-year survival rate of 80 percent today.
"Once you are confident in your field, and you’re confident in the care you can give the child, and you have all the resources here that you can give the kids, then you can be confident."
From our compassionate physicians, such as Dr. Sathi, to our social workers, nurses and Child Life therapists, our team is singularly dedicated to healing and nurturing children.
"Once you beat cancer, that’s a feeling you have that you can defeat anything, you can face any challenge in life."
